Famagusta Gate is one of three entrances through the Venetian walls of old Nicosia, designed by Giulio Savorgnano in 1567. Its later name refers to the road towards Famagusta. Use the gate and walls as reference points when exploring the old city, rather than treating them as isolated monuments.
